Emily has been studying simple machines for the past few weeks. Her “texts” for the study have been a unit from Switched on Schoolhouse Science and a workbook that I downloaded from Currclick. But the really fun part has been Simple Machines lessons with K’nex!
Lever mobile, wheelbarrow, balance, catapult, and door (Levers)
Wishing well (Wheel and Axle)
Ferris Wheel (Wheel and Axle)
Measuring Wheel (Wheel and Axle)
She had a lot of fun using this to “measure” distances on a map.
Sailboat (Pulley)
We will be learning about gears this week.
Hey no fair!!! We don't have directions for the ferris wheel or the catapult... We have an older set and I guess they updated them. Good job. Great pics. Thanks for commenting over on my K'nex post

Ok, I honestly dont know how old this kid is, but Im doing a Science Fair project for grade 8 and Im baffled at how she was able to build this stuff! Great job, kid! However to add on the site, maybe you can give the directions on how you built the machines. :)
